Mount Rose

I climbed mt rose again with a 25 lb pack. I have no idea how to carry a 40 pound pack to mt Rainier....this was a perfect day to hike. It was clear cool. At the summit I spent a while there enjoying this incredible site. I also looked down at the rock Jeff stood on looking over the mountain side wondering which cliff to climb next.

Mount Rose

Well another trip to mount rose. It was a cooler day but still beautiful! I am getting in better shape I carried 15 pounds without stopping up the hard route and down the easier route. Took 4 hrs which is good for me. Was very cloudy and looked like Halloween . Couldn't see from the summit but it was awesome in it's own way. I want to go rope climbing!!

Mount Ranier

Lori and I went on a hike at Mount Rainier. We started at paradise and hiked the skyline high trail. It was 5.5 miles of breath taking beauty. Lori was awesome and in good shape. When winter comes, we are going to go snowshoeing and stay in a rustic log cabin. The park service leads numerous groups on trails of all levels of ability. I read the consent form for climbing mount ranier....wow is all I can say. It is a glacier climb.

Seven Peaks

Maple Canyon

Our rock climbing adventures continue in Maple Canyon. Marni and Paul were so kind to take us along for another climbing trip and we are so, so thankful they did. It was a rockin' day. Following a hearty breakfast (pancakes and turkey bacon made an appearance) we piled in their Subaru and set off for the canyon. It's located a little north of Ephraim, UT and is world famous for its unique cobblestone walls. Upon arrival, we found a wonderful spot with some fun routes. Our gracious teachers shared more of their expertise. We climbed for the majority of the day and stopped only out of necessity to refuel.  I think it's safe to say that we've been roped in.

Mariners vs Oakland. Row 18 behind home plate

We sat next to Felix Hernandez's family. His wife mom and kids. His son is so cute he is about 4 wears a mariners shirt like his dad with a huge cross neckless. They all spoke Venezuelan. It was like one big fiesta they sure know how to have fun! They they ate lots laughed. He had a bad night the right fielder dropped the ball then had to look for it. Lori was called in the replace him. She had several spectacular diving catches.

Wagon wheel

My second time on this insane trail in the Olympic forest. This is arguably one of the granddaddies of trails. No one else was on the trail. I like the peace. Perfect weather. At the summit was the crystal clear blue cold water. I soaked my feet read a few chapters from the book of Mormon. No goats no bears no cougars ....at least none I saw.

Cobbler

We made a peach cobbler with fresh peaches and a sweet peach mango sauce covered with a lemon cake mix. Best yet.

Himalayan blackberries from the back yard.

We have millions this year.

New paint

It is light brown and looks great

Cornwall Cabin

We spent the weekend at the beloved Cornwall Cabin. The cabin was built long ago by my great grandfather. My mother and father drove my sisters up for the start of the school year and we were able to spend a few days with them at the close of the summer break. Many adventures were had during our stay, including hikes around the ranch the cabin belongs to, the traditional drink from the fresh water spring, an indoor concert, board games and a few visits from other family members. The most memorable portion of the trip was our outing to Mirror Lake especially because of the less-than-ideal weather conditions. But we didn't let that stop us. We still managed to have a good time in the canoe and hold a successful barbecue. On our way back, we made a stop at the beautiful Provo River Falls. There's no place quite like the cabin. It was a fantastic, outdoorsy weekend.
